Home Driveways

Northern Beaches Earthmoving can replace or widen existing driveways, or excavate new driveways.  We do all the preparation work ready for the laying of the concrete. We can also organise and recommend concreters to complete the job.

Northern Beaches Earthmoving is experienced in all types of driveway excavation, ranging from the simple to the complex. Here are a few examples of complex jobs undertaken successfully. A very steep long driveway in the hills of Newport, where the gradient of the driveway had to be followed exactly according to the plan.  A long driveway in Terry Hills constructed and compacted from crushed sandstone.  The exclusive driveway made of red rock for the formal bridal entrance to the International College of Management on St Patrick’s Estate, Manly.

Northern Beaches Earthmoving completes a lot of driveway repairs where the concrete has been cracked and lifted by tree roots and needs replacing.

Some steep driveways require piering into rock to prevent the driveway slipping.  This can be done with the Rock Auger.  The Rock Auger Northern Beaches Earthmoving uses is a PD12 – this is a high torque auger drive unit designed for a 12 Tonne machine, which can be used on our 8 Tonne Excavator or our 6 Tonne Excavator.

Northern Beaches Earthmoving also uses an Atlas Copco hammer, which is used to break up reinforced concrete to be taken to the tip with our 14 Tonne Tip Truck.

A cost saving can be made by employing Northern Beaches Earthmoving to do the driveway excavation rather than using the concreter’s contractor.
